County Pairs Qualifying Heat

General Information

• Only players who have Berks and Bucks as their Prime County, full members, can play

• Cost £12 per pair, less £3 per Junior. 

• Held at New Windsor Community Association

• All players should be seated by 1.20 p.m. for a 1.30 p.m. start.  

• Players delayed by traffic should phone 07522 015305.  

• Free tea and coffee etc. are provided.  Players should bring their own food for the short break.

• Play is expected to finish about 8.00 p.m.

Permitted Systems and Conventions

•  Level 4 systems and conventions are allowed.  

• The Director will be rigorous in the application of the full EBU requirements for convention cards. In particular - 

  • Players using any Level 4 systems or conventions must each have convention card EBU 20B
  • Players without two convention cards will be required to play a simple system

Play

• There will be 2 sessions of 22 boards - 44 in all  

• There will be a 20 minute break after session 1. 

• Scoring will be across the field

• The target rate of play is 15 minutes for a 2 board round and 21 for a 3 board round. 

• The Director will take an active role in encouraging pairs who are persistently slow to speed up

• Players will be warned in advance that they will be penalised if they fail to catch up.  If necessary a board which has not been started will be removed.  A board is in play if bidding has started.

 

Qualifiers

• The Final and Plate are at Windsor.  There is a charge of £12 per pair which will be collected on the day.

Prizes  

• There are no prizes for this event.

Master Point Awards

• Regional Scale.   

• Points to the top half of the field

• Master Points will be credited to the EBU at the end of March.
